Preschool I
Penguin Classroom
(3 years - 4 years)
Our Preschool I - Penguin Classroom focuses on nurturing social and emotional skills that are essential for a child’s growth and success. At this stage, children are developing a stronger sense of self-awareness and beginning to navigate relationships with peers and adults. Our program is designed to help them build skills such as recognizing and managing their emotions, developing empathy for others, and practicing patience and self-control.

Through structured activities and play-based learning, children are encouraged to work cooperatively, share, and resolve conflicts in positive ways. We emphasize the use of language to express needs and feelings, teaching children to communicate effectively and build meaningful connections.

By fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging environment, we help children gain confidence in their abilities, build resilience, and develop the social and emotional foundations they need for future success in school and life.

Curriculum:
Activities encourage teamwork, sharing, and problem-solving, helping them build confidence and a sense of independence.
Children are exposed to language and literacy lessons focused on expanding vocabulary, recognizing letters, and building pre-reading skills. Children engage in storytelling, group discussions, and phonics activities to develop a love for language and communication.

Through hands-on exploration, children are introduced to foundational math concepts such as counting, sorting, patterns, and shapes. These activities help build critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Art, music, and imaginative play are integral to the curriculum, allowing children to express themselves and develop their creativity.

Gross motor skills are developed through activities like dancing, outdoor play, and obstacle courses, while fine motor skills are enhanced through writing, drawing, and using manipulatives.

The day includes structured routines like circle time, where children learn letters, numbers, shapes, and colors, as well as small group activities focused on specific skills. This combination of consistency and variety helps children feel secure while encouraging exploration and learning. Our curriculum aims to create a foundation for lifelong learning, ensuring children are prepared for their next educational journey while building confidence and fostering a love of discovery.

Preschool II
Longhorn Classroom
(4 years - 5 years)
Our Pre-K program is thoughtfully designed to align with the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines (TEKS), ensuring that children are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful transition to kindergarten. Through a developmentally appropriate, play-based approach, our curriculum incorporates the key domains outlined in the TEKS, fostering growth in academic, social, and emotional areas.

We create a consistent, predictable, and supportive environment where children feel safe and secure, allowing them to thrive. Clear routines and expectations help children understand what to anticipate, while developmentally appropriate choices foster independence and engagement.

Interactive learning centers include math experiences, science exploration, creative art, music and movement, dramatic play, and language/literacy fundamentals. We provide a balance of child-directed and teacher-directed activities to foster independence and curiosity while guiding children toward achieving key developmental milestones and preparing students for kindergarten in a developmentally appropriate way.
Curriculum:
In our Pre-K, Longhorn Classroom, children are immersed in a rich, engaging curriculum that promotes essential skills for kindergarten readiness. Our math curriculum incorporates hands-on activities such as counting, sorting, patterning, and exploring shapes. Through games, calendar routines, and cooking projects, students build a practical understanding of mathematical concepts while developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Science comes alive in our Longhorn classroom through exciting experiments and hands-on exploration. Students are introduced to topics like weather, the properties of materials, plant and animal life cycles, and basic physical science. By encouraging curiosity and observation, we help children develop early scientific inquiry skills, fostering their natural desire to explore the world around them.

By integrating literacy and phonics into our daily routines, we create an environment where children feel confident to explore language, communicate effectively, and develop a lifelong love of reading and writing. Through a variety of activities, students build vocabulary, listening comprehension, and storytelling abilities. Daily read-aloud sessions expose children to rich language and diverse literature, encouraging imagination and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Writing activities, such as drawing, tracing, and writing letters or their names, help children develop fine motor skills and an understanding of written communication. Our phonics curriculum introduces letter recognition, letter-sound relationships, and beginning blending skills. Children engage in interactive activities such as singing alphabet songs, participating in phonemic awareness games, and practicing sound identification with engaging hands-on materials. These activities help children develop a strong foundation in decoding words, an essential step toward reading fluency.
Our Pre-K - Longhorn program provides a strong foundation that equips students with the tools they need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond. With a balance of academic learning and social-emotional growth, children leave our classroom ready to take on the challenges of their next educational journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
