Infant I & II
8 weeks - 18 months
Our infant classrooms are designed to provide a safe environment so babies can experience the world with all their senses. To ensure a smooth transition from home to school and home again, our infant teachers will communicate with you on an individual basis. Our loving teachers form and maintain a secure attachment with each baby as they guide them through their physical, emotional, social, and linguistic development. We cater to each child’s needs while providing stimulating interaction that fosters each child’s emotional and physical growth.

Tummy time
Our infant curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support the rapid growth and development that occurs in the first year of life. We create a warm, nurturing environment where infants feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore their world. The curriculum focuses on fostering each child’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development through individualized care and age-appropriate activities.

Physical Development
Infants are encouraged to strengthen gross motor skills through tummy time, reaching, rolling, crawling, and eventually pulling up and standing. Fine motor development is nurtured through activities such as grasping toys, pointing, and manipulating objects, helping to build coordination and dexterity.

Cognitive Development
Our curriculum fosters curiosity and early problem-solving skills by exposing infants to a variety of sensory experiences, such as exploring textures, colors, and sounds. Cause-and-effect toys, peek-a-boo, and simple puzzles stimulate cognitive growth and encourage exploration.

Language and Communication
Teachers support language development through responsive interactions, including singing, reading, and talking with the infants throughout the day. Gestures, babbling, and early words are encouraged as infants build the foundation for communication skills.

Social and Emotional Development
Building trusting relationships with caregivers is at the heart of our infant curriculum. Through warm interactions, infants learn to feel secure and begin to form social connections. Activities such as mirror play and face-to-face interaction help infants develop self-awareness and bond with others.
Creative Play
Infants engage in creative and sensory activities such as playing with soft textures, exploring musical instruments, and participating in simple art projects. These activities encourage exploration and stimulate imagination while being developmentally appropriate.
Individualized Care
Recognizing that each infant develops at their own pace, our caregivers create personalized plans that meet the unique needs, schedules, and milestones of every child. Daily routines such as feeding, sleeping, and diapering are opportunities for connection, growth, and learning.
Our infant program provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning by meeting each child’s developmental needs in a loving, supportive environment. We partner closely with families to ensure every infant feels safe, happy, and ready to thrive.

Problem solving
In this class, your baby will begin to follow our school wide schedule and be a part of our meal program. The little ones in this class will eat together and will nap at the same time. Your child’s individual needs (feeding, napping, diapering) will always be promptly met, even if it falls outside of our school schedule. The room arrangement satisfies individual needs by allowing space for eating, sleeping, playing and socializing.
Children in this class are introduced to a daily circle time. During circle time, children are exposed to books, songs, sign language, animal sounds, dance etc. Sensory experiences will take place throughout the day as children engage in hands-on activities such as arts and crafts or outdoor time.

Our Koala Teachers are knowledgeable in age-appropriate activities and milestones that will help in your baby’s development. The curriculum focuses on fostering independence, curiosity, and foundational skills through play-based, developmentally appropriate activities in a nurturing and secure environment.

Physical Development
The “Toddling” Infants will refine their gross motor skills as they practice pulling up, cruising, and taking first steps. Activities such as climbing, walking, and balancing are incorporated to build strength and coordination. Fine motor development is encouraged through activities like grasping, stacking, and using utensils, helping to enhance dexterity and control.
Cognitive Development
Our curriculum stimulates curiosity and problem-solving through hands-on exploration. Activities such as cause-and-effect toys, shape sorters, and sensory play with textures, colors, and sounds encourage older infants to explore and make connections. Early concepts like object permanence and simple matching games foster cognitive growth.

Language and Communication
Language development is a central focus for our “Toddling” Infants as they begin to use words, gestures, and sounds to express themselves. Teachers support communication through reading, singing, and interactive conversations. Children are introduced to simple words, phrases, and sign language to help them communicate their needs and feelings.

Social and Emotional Development
Building secure relationships with caregivers and peers is a key focus for older infants. Social skills such as taking turns, recognizing emotions, and engaging in parallel play are nurtured through guided interactions. Our consistent routines and warm, responsive care help infants feel secure and confident as they navigate new social experiences.

Creative Play
Creative exploration is an essential part of the curriculum. Children will engage in activities such as finger painting, exploring musical instruments, and sensory art projects. These experiences encourage imagination and self-expression while supporting fine motor development.

Early Learning Foundations
Our “Toddling” Infants are introduced to early learning concepts such as identifying colors, animal sounds, and recognizing familiar objects through play-based activities. Teachers provide opportunities for older infants to follow simple directions, encouraging listening skills and fostering cognitive growth.

Individualized Care and Growth
Recognizing that every child develops at their own pace, our caregivers tailor activities and routines to meet the unique needs of each child. Consistent schedules for meals, naps, and playtimes provide a sense of security, while flexible learning opportunities support individual growth.
